Don has worked in public schools for more than four decades. He is a leader in curriculum development and instructional practices. He has served on leadership teams, tech cadres and curriculum review committees. He has twice led WASC accreditation self studies, with the school earning a six-year term each time. His assistance with SBAC preparation and testing at his high school site coincided with 95% participation rates and the highest ELA scores in district history.

Don offers the most value to new teachers. Although he has presented on many topics in recent years, he is most excited to motivate those who are new to the profession. He understands what it takes to succeed in the classroom as well as what it takes to make a career in this often challenging profession. He can tailor a talk to either purpose. And while his audience is often new teachers, he is comfortable speaking to veterans as well.
